“Star Trek: Discovery” Season 5: Start of Final Episodes in Spring

The next season of “Star Trek: Discovery” will be the last and will premiere in April.

Since the fourth season of “Star Trek: Discovery,” the series has not been available on Netflix in Germany. However, fans can now find all episodes of the series on the streaming service Paramount+. Those with a Prime subscription can also subscribe to the Paramount+ channel there.

Perhaps even true Trekkies may have missed one or two interesting or curious facts about the Starfleet? The video presents 15 of them, see for yourself if you already know them all:

“Star Trek: Discovery” Season 5 is the end of the series! Starting in April, “Star Trek” showrunner Alex Kurtzman expands the “Star Trek” universe, but it doesn’t go on forever. After five seasons, it’s curtains for Michael Burnham actress Sonequa Martin-Green and the other crew members. Ahead of the premiere, slated for April 4 on Paramount+, you can already enjoy a sneak peek at the new episodes:

There’s not much revealed in it, except that Burnham once again finds herself in real trouble, as has been her custom for four seasons. Nevertheless, the over four minutes of video material are already enjoyable, and the premiere is now not far off after the delays of last year.

“Star Trek: Discovery” Season 5: What’s Next? With the fourth season of “Star Trek: Discovery,” the time jump is complete, and the crew begins a sort of new life under the leadership of Captain Michael Burnham. In the fourth season, Discovery primarily investigates a space anomaly that has destroyed Book’s planets. Book and Tilly have temporarily left as main characters as a result, but guest appearances by both in the fifth season seem likely. Perhaps we’ll also see Tilly in another series. In terms of content, “Star Trek: Discovery,” which in the first season played ten years before the events of the original series, now has no limits thanks to the time jump. The crew can evolve, and there are still infinitely new adventures in space. However, as we now know, the stories we will experience with this crew are unfortunately limited to a total of five seasons.

Regarding specific plans, there’s already an interview with director Olatunde Osunsanmi on Screenrant, where it’s hinted that the fifth season will be more in line with the original Star Trek series. He doesn’t specify in what form exactly, but it’s not necessarily about characters or stories, but more about the processes, themes, and how the stories are told. Perhaps less action and exploding things and more philosophy, ethics, and science? The series has already somewhat evolved in this direction in recent years.

Tough times for the lonely Starfleet captain One thing is certain: Captain Michael Burnham must now maintain a long-distance relationship in space and do without a close friend on board. Although Cleveland “Book” Booker (David Ajala) doesn’t go to jail for his actions, he is instead obligated to help refugees who have lost their homes due to the DMA. We’ll definitely see less of him. And we’ve also had to bid farewell to Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman), as she has decided to accept Kovich’s (David Cronenberg) offer to teach at Starfleet Academy. This has sparked discussions once again about whether Wiseman is slated for a new, also much-discussed “Star Trek” Starfleet Academy spin-off.

More adventures on alien planets with new species in the 32nd century Additionally, a new alien race with an intriguing form of communication has entered the fray. The species, currently referred to as 10-C, is unknown in the universe and not humanoid at all, so there will surely be more encounters and insights awaiting us in the next season.
