Ben Stiller is finally going to shoot a movie! The star of “The Bear” in the dirty clay

Ben Stiller made us wait for it for a long time. However, everything indicates that his first full-length narrative project since “Zoolander No. 2” from 2015 is finally well on its way to realization. We just learned the name of the potential star.

The project in question is the announced “The Seven Five”, still in 2020. The starting point for it is a documentary from 2014 under the same title, which in turn told the true story from the 1980s.

The protagonist of the film was Michael Dowd, a New York City police officer from the 75th precinct in Brooklyn (hence the title). From 1986 to 1992, he led an organized crime group whose members were policemen. The group engaged in theft, robberies, extortions, and drug trafficking. Dowd’s arrests shocked America, as they revealed an unimaginable level of corruption among law enforcers. Dowd was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

As reported by Jeff Sneider, Stiller has already chosen the star of the film. It’s the recently sought-after Jeremy Allen White, whom you know well from the series “The Bear” as well as the movie “Brothers of Steel”.

Michael Dowd and Hollywood

Hollywood has been interested in making a film about Michael Dowd since the premiere of the documentary “The Seven Five”. Originally, it was supposed to be directed by Yann Demange.

Later, there were talks that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicholas Hoult might play Dowd.

A few years ago, Ben Stiller got involved in the project. The script for him was written by the author of “The Favourite”, Tony McNamara.
