Cameron Monaghan on the film “TRON: Ares”

According to Cameron Monaghan, “TRON: Ares” will be a groundbreaking spectacle. The actor shared his feelings in an interview with Collider.

“I think when it comes to visual aspects, this film will push the boundaries of what we can do,” he said. “Sometimes I come to set even on days when I don’t have scheduled shots because the sets look really fantastic. The visual effects are just phenomenal; I love looking at them.”

The actor also recalled the impression “TRON” made on him, which began the series in 1982.

“I remember when I saw the original, I thought it was a film from the 90s or even later because it looked really amazing for a production from that time,” he said.

“Last year, I had the opportunity to see ‘TRON: Legacy’ on 35 mm film during a screening at New Beverly, and I must say it holds up really well, and the music by Daft Punk is fantastic. I like that there are years between the installments of the series. They don’t come out too often, and when they do, they show a new era of technology and filmmaking.”

“TRON: Ares” will tell the story of events that could change the history of the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence. Jared Leto portrays a rebellious program named Ares. His goal is to escape from the virtual world into the real world. The premiere is scheduled for October 2025.
